Galen Arthur Corbitt 1950-2012

Galen A. Corbitt 61, went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, May 12, 2012, in Waco.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday May 15 at Our Lady of The Lake Episcopal Church in Laguna Park, with a celebration of his life to follow at Lake Whitney State Park Recreation Center.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Edie, son Eric and wife Marisol, and daughter Lisa and fiance D.J. Also survived by his sister Peggy Green and her husband Joe, their children Carey and Becky and her husband Steve and children, brother Tom, sister Sherry Wright and her husband Jerry, and their children, Ammie and Robert, Ammie’s husband Don and their children McKenzie, Maisee, and Mia. Brother in law Howard and wife Nelda daughter Amber, brother in law Steve and children Courtney, Amanda and husband Mike and great neice Hayden. Innumeral friends from everywhere. To say we will miss him is a collossal understatement. Born in Fort Worth, Texas, June 13, 1950, Galen was preceded in death by his parents. He was the best husband and father, and a friend closer than a brother. May he rest in peace.

  5. What an honor and privilege to have known such a gentle and kind man as G man. I will always remember him as being such a strong fighter and for being such an inspiration to me and to all that have or has had cancer. He is a true Angel and one day we will all meet again.   6. I have the only kidney cancer support group in Michigan. I correspond with children who have Wilms tumor and adults like Galen. I am so sorry for your loss. I will mention it in my facebook commentary 5/15/12 of my open group "Kidney Cancer Support Group of Michigan" in memory of our son who died from metastatic kc several years ago.   13. The last time I saw Galen I was about 15 and he was "on the road". We both stayed in a tent in the back yard at my Dads house("Uncle Earl")in Colorado. I still remember his easy smile.
    I’m glad to see the same smile in almost every picture here. I’m also glad to see the wonderful family life he had in later years. Goodbye old friend….
