Erma D. Jordan, 79, a native of McLennan County passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2015.

Visitation: Friday, January 1, 2016 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend, Waco

Service: Celebration and Thanksgiving service will be at 11:00AM on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 2nd Missionary Baptist Church, 2001 Dallas Street, Waco.

Erma Taylor Jordan was born July 7, 1936 to the parentage of the late Robert D. Taylor and Viola Walker Taylor in McLennan County, Texas. Erma was the third of three children. She was educated in the Downsville/Rosenthal Public School System and accepted Christ at a very early age with Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, Pastor S.M. Cleveland, in Waco, Texas. In the early 1950’s Erma married Jessie Griffin in Waco, Texas; to this union six children were born. In the late 1960’s Erma married Samuel Robinson in Waco, Texas; to this union one child were born. In June 1985 Erma married Charles Jordan in Waco, Texas. Charles preceded her in death. Erma worked for Baylor University for more than 35 years until she retired.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother, husbands, sisters Ira Tucker and Lillian Thomas; three children, Jessie Griffin Jr., Gary Griffin, Mark Robinson and one grandchild.

Those left to her memories: her sons, Robert L. Taylor of Waco, John L. Taylor of Waco, Kennes Griffin of Fort Worth, Donald Griffin & wife Linda of Arlington; one daughter, Patricia Griffin Blackwell, who was very devoted, and husband Marcus of Waco; along with a host of grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren 4 great-great-grandchildren, numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives and friends.
