Douglas James Turner, 72, of Waco, passed away after a long illness Thursday, October 29, 2020.

Service Information: A visitation will be held Monday, November 2, 2020 from 6 – 8 pm at Lake Shore Funeral Home. A private burial will be held at a later date. Due to current COVID-19 mandates, limited seating will be available.

Douglas was born August 31, 1948 in Waco to David and Virginia Turner. After finishing school, he started working for CTIW where he continued to work for 30 plus years. He married the love of his life Marla Allred on January 24, 1969. Douglas enjoyed barbecuing and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting with his best friend Robert.

He was preceded in death by his parents David and Virginia Turner; his oldest brother, Edward; daughter, Paula Neumann; granddaughter, Erica Turner and grandson, Jason Saul, Jr.

Douglas is survived by his wife of 51 years, Marla; children, Michael and wife, Heather, Kristy and husband, Jeff, James and wife, Heather, son-in-law Bill, and his favorite child, Lisa, and fiancé, John; brother, Charlie and wife, Brenda; sister, Ginger, and special children, Kara and Maddox Martinez, as well as numerous grandkids, nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Marla Turner or Lisa Vieregge to help with funeral expenses.
