Dorothy Wynelle (Williams) Moore, 78, of Waco, passed away January 8, 2023, at Homestead Nursing Home in Hillsboro, TX. Memorial and graveside services will be held privately.

On October 28, 1944, Wynelle was born to Raymond and Dorothy Williams in Dallas, TX. She was raised in Commerce, TX, and graduated from Commerce High School in 1963. After high school, she attended college at East Texas State University, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Home Economics. Wynelle married Richard Moore on August 26, 1966, moved to Waco and started their family. Together they raised a daughter, Stacy, born in 1971, and a son, Derek, born in 1973. Wynelle was involved in her children’s school and activities. She served in the PTA, as a room mother, a Camp Fire leader and attended her children’s school programs and games. Wynelle’s hobbies included making flower arrangements, maintaining her flowerbeds, and decorating the house for every season and holiday. She especially loved her pets through the years.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Wynelle is survived by her husband, Richard Moore; daughter, Stacy Johnson (David); son, Derek Moore (Lori); and grandchildren, Mason Riggs (April) and Johanna Moore. Also surviving are brother, Winston Williams; brother, Wyman Williams (Harriet); sister-n-law, Priscilla Williams; and several nephews and nieces.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Homestead Nursing Home for the compassionate care they provided.
