Condolence from Catherine Lightsey hubbard on February 28th, 2014 9:13 am

I am so sorry to hear of Dottie’s passing. My husband and I knew her for 37 years and remember so fondly all the good times we had with her and C in "the old days". Our entire family (her daughter-in-law, Melinda’s, family) sends our love to Jim, Melinda, Madeline and Clayton as they move through this journey of grief without a Mother or Grandmother. May God bless you, and all who loved Dottie. And may she rest in peace now. Love, the Lightsey family (Thomas, Catherine, Clint, Lee, Elizabeth, Rebecca, Isabel, Felicia, Priscilla, Scott, Kique, Cameron, Tom)

Condolence from Cindy Fink on February 28th, 2014 9:13 am

I lost one of my favorite aunts in the world. My days will seem a little sadder for awhile. We had certain little fun things we did. In time my heart will heal. For I know she is in Heaven and rejoicing with her Heavenly Father and family. She would be telling me, don’t be sad Cindy, I’m having a blast up here! To know my Aunt Dottie loved me, gave me great joy. To all her Waco friends, thank you for love and care for her. All her doctors and nurses, she trusted you all the way. Dr. Jerry, know that she trusted and respected you, but most of all know she loved you. To all the folks at Lakeshore Estates Retirement Center – thank you for loving my Aunt Dottie.

To all her grandchildren. Always, always remember the amazing grandmother you had.
She loved each and every one of you. Remember things she taught you, or little sayings she would say. Take something away from her life and tell yourself and the world, yes, she was one amazing woman.

Condolence from Kelly Ford-Reynolds on February 28th, 2014 9:14 am

My prayers are with all of Dottie’s family and friends at this time.

I knew Dottie for nearly twenty years and I loved and admired her so much. She was able to celebrate the important things in life with joy and laughter, and handle the disappointments in life with courage and honesty. Over the years I watched her sell her farm, travel the world, buy a house, build a house, and then move to a retirement community so she could keep an active social calendar. With every change in her life, she made more friends.

I loved her, I learned from her, and I will miss her very much.

Today, 8 years after the loss of my cousin, Dottie Bass Ford, my heart is feeling an empty spot! My love for her is great! Found some happy pictures when she and her son David Ford, wife Kelly, and sons Brian and Jacob would come and celebrate Thanksgiving with us. I’ll always miss Dottie and her son David, God’s treasures.
