Doreen Lambert, 93, of Elm Mott, passed away Friday, April 25, 2014.

Visitation : No Public Visitation

Graveside Services : 10AM Wednesday, April 30th, at Rosemound Cemetery in Waco, officiated by Rev. Richard Rust.

Doreen was born April 7, 1921 to Philip and Mirtie (Hisaw) Karcher in Huffman, Tx. After schooling, she met a dashing young man named Ollie, and in no time at all they were wed! Fifteen years later, their family began, with the birth of their first child. And until death they did not part; Ollie preceded his beloved Doreen in death in 1993.

Doreen was a known for her quiet soul and loving spirit. Her favorite hobbies were cooking, sewing, and quilting. She had a strong relationship with the Lord, and spent many summers cooking at church camp for the staff and kids. She was active in her church until she could no longer leave home due to her declining health. In her working years, Doreen served Waco ISD as a cafeteria manager, and was well known for her delicious cookies and mouth watering yeast rolls.

Doreen’s granddaughter, Tiffany, had a close relationship with her “Granny”, and would call her house her “weekend home” when she was younger. Doreen was a loving wife, caring mother, doting Granny, and beloved individual. She will be missed by many.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Ollie Marshal Lambert; one granddaughter, Sara Elizabeth; all of her siblings, Philip Karcher, David Karcher, James Karcher, Arthur Karcher, and Lettie Asher.

She is survived by one son, Mike Lambert and wife, Karen, of Cedar Park; one daughter, Vickie Wurbs and husband, Alan, of Waco; two grandsons, Michael Lambert and wife, Amy, of Round Rock, and Zach Lambert and wife, April, of Round Rock; one granddaughter, Tiffany Pace and husband, Dustin, of Waco; three great-grandchildren, Drake, Adler, and Tate, with a fourth great-grand baby due in the Fall; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other family members.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Doreen’s honor be made to a charity of your choice.
