Donald Ray Banks

Donald Ray Banks, 63, of Valley Mills, passed away Friday, July 26, 2019.

Memorial Visitation: from 6-8 PM, Tuesday, July 30 at Lake Shore Funeral Home.

Donny was born July 21, 1956 to Kenneth and Doris (Whited) Banks.

He was old-school, though he was hard if it was wrong.  He was loving and kind to his wife, son, daughter (not in-law) and joy of his life Briella.  Donny was so kind to many people, not cashing their checks when he had done work for them.  He was loyal and loving, though he tried not to always be known.  He and his wife, Cindy, lived a great life for almost 47 years, and God always got them through it.  So now God has called him home after a very short time with a heart disease.  One of Donny’s favorite sayings after several brushes with death was “It may be a good day to die.”  He didn’t want mourning and tears.  His faith in God was strong and now a good man has gone home.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Donny is survived by his wife of almost 47 years, Cindy; son, Billy Banks and wife Brittany; granddaughters, Briella and Bailee Banks; brothers, Bennie Whited and Kenneth Whited; and sisters, Sinda Castillo and Versi Banks.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Donny’s honor, to the Mike Abel Scholarship c/o Central Texas Rifle and Pistol Club.

Place of Service: Lake Shore Funeral Home , 5201 Steinbeck Bend; Waco, TX 76708
