Don Phillips

Don Phillips, 86, of Bosqueville, passed away Sunday, March 29th.

Funeral Services: 11AM Wednesday, April 1st at Bosqueville Baptist Church with Rev. James Houser and Rev. Ryan Busby officiating. Burial will follow at Bosqueville Cemetery.

Visitation: will be held one hour prior to the service.

Don was born May 6, 1928 in Redondo Beach, CA to Otis and Ruth (Shumate) Phillips. He moved to Texas at an early age. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He then returned home and married his childhood sweetheart, Kathryn Louise French on July 19, 1946. He started working at General Tire. Then, he started his own businesses, including North Waco TV and Appliance, and Don E. Phillips, Inc.- a utility construction company. Don was a member of Gideons of Waco NW Camp, Masonic Lodge, former member and deacon at Park Lake Drive Baptist Church, and current member and deacon at Bosqueville Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 64 years, Kathryn Louise Phillips; and granddaughter, Brandy Phillips.

Survivors include his children, Donna Lindsey and husband Joe, Terry Don Phillips and wife Dotty, and Sharon Bostick and husband Danny; nine grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and special cousin, Ralph Shumate and wife Wilma.

The family would like to acknowledge a special thank you to Annetta Jernigan for her loving devotion, personal care and friendship, and to Bluebonnet Hospice and Visiting Angels for your professional care.
