David Lopez, 63, of Waco passed away Saturday, September 24, 2022.

Visitation: 6 – 8PM Friday, September 30 at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel

Funeral Service: 11AM Saturday, October 1 at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be for immediate family only.

Born November 15, 1958, he lived in Waco all his life. He was a hard-working man who loved nothing more than to spend his down time relaxing on the back porch or riding along scenic routes in the Hill Country with his wife, Janet, on the motorcycle.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Lopez; mother, Marcie Lopez; father, Hilbert Lopez; brothers, Danny Lopez, Darryl Lopez, and Donald Lopez; sister, Debbie Stroud; children, Angela Hudson, David (Hawvy) Lopez Jr., & Michelle Asebedo; grandchildren, Aidan Asebedo, Kaleb Hudson, Grace Hudson, and Alessandra Asebedo; and many nieces and nephews across two generations.

Pallbearers: Danny Lopez, Darryl Lopez, Donald Lopez, David (Hawvy) Lopez Jr., Aidan Asebedo, and Kaleb Hudson. Honorary Pallbearers: Donald Lopez Jr., Darryl Lopez Jr., and Nicholas Lopez.

If you know David, then you know that he has always been a very casual guy. Because of this, we are asking for everyone to come dressed comfortably. Jeans and t-shirts are just fine. He wouldn’t want anyone getting all dressed up for him.

Place of Service: Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel , 5201 Steinbeck Bend; Waco, TX 76708

David will always be the Coolest, Nicest, Humblest Man I ever knew. “I guess it’s not what you take when you leave this world behind you. It’s what you leave behind you when you go.” He never met a stranger and always left a great impression on the people he encountered. I will miss him greatly. Melony and I send our Love and deepest condolences.
Love,

Remember David since grade school thur high school. Don’t think I seen him again after that.He was very respectful without even saying a word. He always had a smile. We lost so many school mates in the pass few months Eddie Silvia, Ricky Alonzo, Mike Tusa I wonder what they have plan up there in heaven. May they all rest in peace. My prayers for the family at this time.
