David Lee Nelson, 80, of Whitney, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro.

Cremation was arranged and provided by Lake Shore Funeral Home & Crematory

David was born in Ft. Worth to Leonard and Allene Nelson on March 8,1940. He was 101st airborne in Army for 8 years before starting his life of being a master machinist. David was an avid gun collector, amazing fisherman, loved riding his Harley, most amazing daddy and of course the best friend and best pawpaw ever to his youngest grandson, Travis. Although he was set in his ways and didn’t seem friendly at times he was one of the best people you could always depend on. To say he will be missed is an understatement. Fly with angels till we meet again.

David is survived by children, David Nelson of Florida, Denise and husband, Tim, of Florida, Dwayne and wife, Bonnie of Florida and his beloved baby girl, Serena, and husband, Robbie, of Whitney; along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
