David Joe Claridy, 62 of Speegleville, Texas passed away March 7, 2018 after a short and courageous battle with ALS.  A celebration of life is pending.

David was born May 14, 1955 in Whitney, Texas before moving to Waco where he attended Waco High School.  He spent ten years working for Baylor Scott and White – Hillcrest where he was highly regarded by his co-workers.

A genuine soul, David was full of life and always there to help a friend in need.  He never met a stranger and made sure everybody who came for a visit left with a smile. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, playing his guitar, and spending time outdoors with his family and friends.  David was also a jack of all trades and could fix anything.

He was preceded in death by his father, C. E. Bud Claridy and brother, Howard “Gene” Claridy.

He is survived by his mother, Wanda Claridy of Waco, TX;  wife, Karen Claridy of Speegleville,TX; son Brian and wife Christy Claridy of Olympia, WA; daughter, Lauren Claridy of Waco, TX; brother Don and wife Mary Claridy of West, TX; sisters: Carol and husband Duke Copeland of Speegleville, TX and Cindy Claridy of Mexia, TX. David is also survived by five step-children: Kandice and husband, Justin Jordan of Fort Worth, TX, Chase Randall of Eldon, MO,  Gino Young and Jessica Alexander of Belton,TX, Allen Young and wife Kelsey of Midland, TX and Chance Young and wife Jennifer of Brighton, CO, along with grandson, Braxton Claridy; step-grandchildren, Kynslee and Jaxton Jordan, Brooks, Corbin, Arianna, Addy, Kami, Nevara and Raurie Young; nieces and nephews, Joe Luna, Donathan, Troy and Jason Claridy, Robyn Miga,  Amber Hall, and Sarah and Beau Copeland; as well as numerous cousins and extended family and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff of Baylor Scott and White – Hillcrest for their excellent care and kindness.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the ALS Association, Texas Chapter, donate.alstexas.org
