Darla Faye (Watkins) Fedro, 79 of Waco, passed away peacefully February 22, 2023 while in the care of Providence Inpatient Hospice.

Visitation: 5 ~ 7PM Monday, February 27 at Lake Shore Funeral Home

Celebration of life: 11AM Tuesday, February 28 at Northside Church of Christ, 2500 Parrish Street, Waco, TX 76705.  Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

Darla was born May 2, 1943 in Harlingen, TX.  She attended schools in Harlingen and graduated from La Vega High School in 1961.  Darla married her high school sweetheart, Charles (Charlie) Fedro August 19, 1960 at the age of 17 and raised four beautiful children.  Her employment career included bookkeeping at HEB in Bellmead, managing the family business Fedro Service Heating & AC, and later managed the school lunchrooms at Axtell ISD.

Darla was an active member of Northside Church of Christ.  She enjoyed gardening, quilting, ceramics, and playing Canasta with her lifelong friends.  She remained close with her graduating class and helped coordinate their reunions.  She loved keeping her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved baseball and football. She enjoyed attending any sports games that she could watch her children and grandchildren play.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clara and Bailey Watkins; brother, Clarence Watkins; son, Michael Fedro; great-granddaughter, Athena Barrett.

She is survived by her husband Charles Fedro; brothers, Elvin Watkins and wife Wendy, Kenneth Watkins and wife Cindy; children, Charlotte Fedro, Tim Fedro and wife Shelly, Ronnie Fedro and wife Melissa; grandchildren, Kristin Fedro, Brady Fedro, Evan Fedro, Casey Fedro, Kandace Barrett, and Kalyn Fedro; great- grandchildren, Gavin, Oliva, Madeline, Ash, Lexi, Jordan, Kylie, Kaleb, and Jamie.

In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to Northside Church of Christ in Bellmead and/or Providence Hospice.

It was a pleasure working with daughter, Charlotte was an awesome co-worker, and loved those grand kids, even though some of them probably still owe me math papers.   4. My sincere condolences to the family. I am so sorry for the loss of such a fine lady. She was a vital part of the staff at Axtell ISD and a most competent employee. I appreciated her efforts and all of her family and their involvement with the school.
