Connie Lynn Crawford Cullom was born on January 20, 1943, in Laredo, Texas, to Walter Lewis Crawford and Stella B. Bailey Crawford. Growing up as part of a sharecropping family, Connie experienced a nomadic childhood until her family finally settled in Waco. There, she attended local schools and proudly graduated from Waco High School in 1961.
She was known for her warmth and kindness, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met. Many of Cara’s childhood friends affectionately referred to her as “Mom” or “Memaw,” a testament to her nurturing spirit.
Professionally, Connie spent many years as a counter person at Eckard Drug, Script Shop Pharmacy, and Wal-Mart Pharmacy in Bellmead. Her customers adored her, often waiting in line just for the chance to see her friendly face.
A lifelong member of Bosqueville Methodist Church, Connie attended services both in her youth and recently as an adult.
Connie was preceded in death by parents; son, Charles “Bubba” Childs; brothers, Jake, Leon, Walter and Vernon Crawford; and beloved dog, Bubba.
Connie is survived by her devoted daughter, Cara Hanna and husband Richard of Valley Mills; grandchildren, John Hanna, Chris Hanna and wife Emilee, Jarod Hanna and wife Brittani and Jessica Hanna Sifers and husband James. Connie cherished her role as a grandmother and was blessed with 12 great-grandchildren who brought her much joy. Connie also held dear friendships with Peggy Butler, Sharon Parsons, and Linda Brown, who enriched her life.
The pallbearers: Chris Hanna, Jarod Hanna, Jack Hanna, Steven Hanna, Bobby Hanna, and Nick Rodriguez. Honorary pallbearers are her cherished great-grandsons; Jarrett Hanna, Jax Hanna, Colton Sifers, Preston Sifers, Preston McAuley, and Justin Getman.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Heart of Texas Autism Network in her honor.
