Clayton ” CJ ” Love, Jr.

Love

Senior Airman Clayton ‘CJ’ Andrew Love, Jr., was a kind and loving person, whose contagious smile and happy demeanor could light the darkest of spaces. Simply a true joy to everyone around him, his presence was a gift, as was his fierce love for family, friends, and community. He passed away August 3, 2021, at his home in Little Rock, AR.

Service Information: A Memorial is to be held Saturday, August 14, at Lake Shore Funeral Home & Crematory at 3:00 PM. Afterwards, family will be hosting a BBQ, a shindig or hootenanny if you will, followed by a lantern release at Airport Park Beach starting at 6:00 pm. The family graciously requests that all military members attending the service to join in the celebration.

Clayton was born on June 8, 1998, in Waco, TX.  A 2017 graduate of China Spring High School, he relished returning home on leave to participate in the China Spring Community.  Entering the Air Force in September of 2017, he served his country until his passing. Proud to be a Senior Airman in the United States Air Force, he ensured each aircraft was lovingly maintained.   Clayton was an amazing cat dad to his beloved cats Lucy, and Anri. Always up for an adventure or just a quiet night at home, he also had a passion for video games or spending time with his friends. Often going on hikes or runs, he held a veracious admiration for nature.

Once, in early elementary school CJ was tasked to assemble his five biggest dreams. These dreams continue to signify the man he would become.

“I have a dream that people will treat their pets better.”

“I have a dream that there will be no slavery all around the world.”

“I have a dream that people will not bully each other.”

“I have a dream that people will treat the Earth better.”

“I have a dream that there will be equality and peace in the world.”

He is survived by his mother, Lori and her husband Rick Romero; his father, Clayton Love and his wife Alexis Koleff; his brother Timothy Love; and a sister by heart Andrea Castillo. He leaves behind many friends, family, and Airmen.  He was preceded in death by his beloved cat Kenji.  Pallbearers are Timothy Love, Steven Saucedo, Michael Fromberger, Lance Booker, Mason Skirha and Ruben Vera.

CJ’s absence will be felt keenly in our hearts: a great emptiness, unfathomable.
