Christopher Mendoza was born June 27, 1975, in Dallas, Texas, to his father and mother, Jovito & Trinidad Mendoza. He was raised in Oak Cliff but spent much time going back and forth between Oak Cliff and Waco throughout his life. Chris graduated from Sunset High School in Oak Cliff in 1994. Chris loved his career being a mechanic and was always quick to lend a helping hand. He loved his tejano, rock, and country music. He was known to get down on the dance floor. He also enjoyed fishing with family and friends. He touched so many lives and left his imprint on many hearts. He had an infectious laugh and always had a smile on his face. If you knew Chris, then you definitely found a friend in him. He was easy to get along with, and he had such a big heart. One of his favorite times was spending as much time as he could with his boys during their baseball seasons. Chris loved his kids and enjoyed spending time with them. He would always push them to learn and to better themselves. He often repeated his father’s quote, “Wake up! What do you think this is a rest home?”

When Chris fell ill, we had so much hope that he would come home. He believed he would go home. He requested prayers from all. Most didn’t realize a few years ago he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and savior. He started taking steps to live Christ-like and was a member of Calvary Oak Cliff Church where he was being discipled by Pastor Rocky.

To our surprise, God answered our prayer of healing and restored him to complete health.

Chris entered heaven on Friday, July 9, 2021.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jovito Mendoza.

He is survived by his mother, Trinidad Mendoza; his wife, Jennifer Mendoza; siblings, Frances Daniel and husband, David, Lynda Robinson, Steven Mendoza, Stella Martinez, and husband, Dan, Ofelia Tovar and husband, Rickey; children, Roman Mendoza and Isaiah Mendoza; step-children, Jacob Aleman, Sr. and wife, Maria, Brianna Lopez, Bobby Morales, Jr.; step-grandchildren, Jacob Aleman, Jr., Jesse Jones, Jr., Malachi Aleman, Elijah Lopez and Giselle Lopez; nephews, Anthony Daniel, Angel Tovar and fiancé Jasmine Olvera;  nieces, April Daniel, Serena Martinez, Justine Martinez, Ashley Martinez, Cecelia “Cece” Fajardo and husband, Adrian, Alyana Tovar, Valerie Martinez, and Sulie Martinez; along with numerous cousins who were like siblings to him and other loving family members and friends.

“Suddenly, if I die, don’t cry, just look to the heavens; I’ll always be there waiting for you.”

Place of Service: Waco Memorial Park , 6623 S. IH-35; Robinson, TX 76706

Jenny, I’m saddened that I didn’t get to know him but ‘he’ welcomed my grandchild with open arms and made her feel like one of his own. Judging by all the respect and love people are showing, I missed out on knowing a wonderful man. God blessed you with the time you had with him and the time his children and your children and grandchildren had with him; albeit brief. He is healed and he is home.

I love you my sweet niece,

Tia Bonnie

Condolence from Kimberley Aleman-Soria on July 20th, 2021 3:16 pm

My dearest CWISTAFA!
I’ve thought a thousand times about what to say; all I believed was prayer would make you stay. The last text you responded to was your request to keep the prayers coming. You sure did surprise me with this one, Cwistafa Mendoza Aleman Soria (I seriously just heard you laugh)! I don’t know how my JenaFA will recover from your loss. I do know that I will hold her hand along the way. You know she still doesn’t know that you loved she had me and that I had her even though we got on your nerves (DAILY). I have no one to text or call when she’s ignoring me. Cwistafa, I am blessed to say I knew you, fought with you, annoyed you, made you laugh, shared vacation with you, and was able to love you unconditionally. JenaFA loving you made me love you, and you already know if she was mad at you, I was mad at you, and you’d say, “Oh boy, here we go” hehe, I just wanted you to know I am baking your chocolate cake and sharing it with her someday soon. I pray you to have the best chocolate cake in Heaven. I’m thankful to know love never dies, and neither did you. You invaded our minds and live in our hearts, and I promise to look for you in Heaven even if you’re trying to find a good hiding place from me right now as you hear this.
Rest in Heaven; you are truly missed.

Jenny, Trini, Roman, Isaiah, and family- you all are blessed to have loved him here on earth for the time you did. I pray you all are comforted knowing you will see him again and that peace covers your mind and heart today and always. May his memory invade your mind and fill your heart, infecting you with permanent smiles and laughs as you miss him.
Love,
Cousin Kimmie Aleman-Soria

Condolence from TRACIE L FLOWERS on July 27th, 2021 12:08 am

I’m truly sorry for this tremendous loss in this family. When I found out I just cried like a baby. What a beautiful soul Chris was. Chris was my mechanic. HE was an honest man. A truthful man. A noble man. I thank God I was blessed to have him as my mechanic the years I did. “Wherever a beautiful soul has been, there is a trail of beautiful memories. I have had several conversations with Chris over the years but one (1) that stands out in a time like this is that he was introduced again to Christ through his wife and he was thankful to her for that. He also spoke so much of how he loved his “boys.” Jennifer, I can only imagine losing your husband suddenly like this. Nothing compares to the love of a spouse. The love that Chris had for you can NEVER be taken away. Hold on to that and know that he is with you always. I want you to know that I am thinking about you and praying that the Lord grant you and the family strength, comfort, and peace during your time of bereavement.
The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. Psalm 34:18-20
You and your family are in my prayers. God bless you ALWAYS. Love Tracie
