It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Christine Yvonne Collins Compton, wife of Joe Ryan Compton. She went to be with the Lord peacefully, surrounded by family, on February 14, 2021 at 3PM at the young age of 47 years old due to severe complications from a short term illness.
Service Information: A memorial service will be held at 2 o’clock PM on Saturday, the 10th of April at Renovation Church located at 4809 Waco Dr, Waco, TX. 76710. A celebration of life event will take place following the funeral at Rocky’s Roadhouse 926 S. Lacy Dr. (Us – 77 BUSINESS) Lacy Lakeview, Texas 76705, all are welcome to attend. Christy was born in Littlefield, Texas in October of 1973, the daughter of William and Linda Collins. She grew up primarily in the West, Texas panhandle but lived out most of her adult years in Waco, Texas.
Christy was a wonderful mom to her son and only child, Brandon Schroeder. At a very young age, Brandon was diagnosed with Leukemia. Christy was always there for Brandon, often alone, through years of ups and downs from treatments throughout the lengthy battle against the Leukemia. She fought the good fight all the way through till the very end, until at last, her son was finally cancer free. Before her son was diagnosed with Leukemia, Christy shared her love and compassion as a Caregiver through Nurse’s Unlimited.
Christy was later married to Joe Ryan Compton on May 17, 2015 in Waco, Texas and lived the remaining years of her life as his soulmate, devoted wife and the love of his life.
Christy was such a blessing to any and all whom had the privilege of meeting her. She had a smile that would warm even the most saddened souls. Her footprint remains on the hearts of all who loved her and were loved by her.
Christy was preceded in death by her grandma, Ila; her grandpa, Bill; her grandpa, Louis; her grandma, Willie Mae Shipley; her uncles, Danny, Terry, Sammy, and Leroy; and her aunt, Judy.
She is survived by her husband, Joe Ryan Compton; her son, Brandon L Schroeder; her father, William L Collins; her mother, Linda S Northern; her siblings, William Collins (Danny), Hazel Collins (Susie), Terrance Collins, Dustin Collins, Katie Collins, Arturo Ramirez, Candy Collins, Ashley Hicks, Michael Collins, Denise Mahon (Necy) and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
