Charlie Henry Turner Jr., 73, of Waco, passed away Sunday, April 4, 2021 at his residence.

Memorial Service: 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 16, at Lake Shore Funeral Home

Charlie was born August 2, 1947 in Jasper, Texas to Charlie Henry Turner Sr. and Myrtle Mae Ackre. He enlisted in the Marine Corps voluntarily on January 26, 1967 and proudly served his country until January 25th, 1971 as a E-5 Sergeant. He was a JET MECHANIC AVIATION SPECIALIST. After his service to our country, he put himself through college at TSTI for air conditioning/refrigeration and later worked for many years as an auto mechanic. He retired after for 17 years with Midway ISD as the Transportation Supervisor.

Charlie was a wonderful husband and father who would do anything and everything for anyone especially the people he loved. He loved teaching all the kids all about anything he could. His hobbies included doing anything outdoors, hunting, fishing, boating and camping. He especially loved going up the river to chase the “whites” when they were running.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Charlie Sr and Myrtle; his three sisters, Myrtle, Joyce and Johnnie Mae; brothers, Terri Fair and Stephen Fair; sister-in-law, Jan Fair; father-in-law, George Jackson; and niece, Amy Fair.

Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 41 years Patrice “Cissy” Turner; daughter, Dusty Hamilton and son-in-law, David Reigert; grandchildren, Zachary Hamilton, Robyn Neal and Dakota Hamilton; great-grandchildren, Izabel and Chance Hamilton and Ariah Sparks; brothers, Mike Fair, David Fair and Brian Fair; mother-in-law, Sybil Jackson; nephews, Chris Wolske, Matthew McMahon and Ian Johnston; niece, Kayla Jackson and many more. He is also survived by his sister-in-laws, Melodie Johnston and her husband, John and Zina Segura and her husband, Jesse; brother-in-law, Mike Jackson and his wife, Sylvia.

He leaves behind so many great memories and great friends that cherished him deeply.

Charliee was such a kind, thoughtful man! When worked at MISD in the Transportation dept., he always took care of the ladies (drivers and bus aides) that worked there. On cold days, he often had our buses warmed up and the frost off of the windows cleared by the time we arrived at 6:30 A.M. or before.

Charlie’s kindness and caring thoughtful ways will never be forgotten!

Charlie was a very kind man, he worked hard at Midway Transportation as the head mechanic. He was really good at his job, always ready to help with a smile on his face. Prayers for his family to have peace, comfort, and strength in the days ahead. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
