I will miss Charlie. Hard to write this. The very best of a fiend during my high school years and a older brother that I never had. Remember fondly when his father was a Texas Game Warden and well to say that my Grandfather was not always the legal sportsman. He had a gidget called a telephone. Good way to catch yellow catfish back in those days. Then Charlie’s dad would always ask Charlie were my grandfather was and my Grandfather would ask me were was Charlie’s dad. Of course Charlie and I being Charlie and I would would never tell neither one of them. I know Charlie’s dad did get to catch my grandfather in action at least once. When I came to China Springs in October of 1974 this little long haired buy from the big town of Ft Worth, and who was one of the first to take me as a close friend Charlie. Charlie never had a enemy in the world he just would not let anyone become a enemy, maybe with the exception of one time about this guy from Connolly that took his girlfriend from him. That is a whole another story what we did one night on that one. My friend rest in peace as I know you are. Look up my dad along with my grandfather and just check and see if your father is still chasing my dad and grandfather.

Charlotte, Leslie and family, boy this one is hard to swallow. Charlie, you’re in that place we read about called Paradise. You have a special place in my heart, many years in school and later talking to you about your service, college, Charlotte and your kids, watching you and LD talk about the Lord – all the wrongs and finally getting it right, as you talked about being saved, loving Charlotte and how good and forgiving she is and wanting to be part of God’s Kingdom. You are so loved and will be SO missed. Fly high, walk those streets of gold, sing with the angels – till we meet again good friend.
