Charles C. Smith, 84, of Lacy Lakeview, passed away suddenly on Monday, September 5, 2011. Memorial services will be 2PM Monday, September 12th at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chuck was born October 22, 1926 in McGregor to Herbert Lee Smith and Josephine (Parker) Smith. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II on the U.S.S. Savo Island. He was a passionate golfer. He was known as a kind, loving family man and very generous person.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Awadalla.
Survivors include wife of 38 years, Helen Smith of Lacy Lakeview; stepdaughters, Dee Whitaker and husband Buddy of Arkansas, and Carolyn Luedke and husband Gary of Mt. Calm; son, Rodney Edward Cepak of Lacy Lakeview; four grandchildren, Jesse Luedke and wife Stephanie, Amanda Luedke, Shannon Harris and husband Kevin, and Angela King and husband Greg; four great grandchildren, Elizabeth and Emily Harris, and D.J. and Sara Luedke; sister, Mary Redding of Waco; and brother and golfing buddy, John Carter of Elm Mott.

It’s been 7 months yesterday, since you left this world. There’s not a day I don’t think of you. I love you and miss you Grandpa.
Helen, I was sorry to read about your loss. I always enjoyed seeing you & Chuck at your Highway 6 & Bosque Blvd. filling station. Chuck was always very honest & trustworthy. Sending you thoughts & prayers during your season of healing.

We are so sorry we could not be there this afternoon to share your wonderful thoughts and memories of Connelly. We shared many joyful family get togethers in my early years, also a deep love and patriotic duty to our Country. Until our times together once more you will be in our thoughts and prayers.
We are so sorry for your loss. Thinking of you and keeping you in our prayers.
Chuck was a dear friend and neighbor and was always fun to be around with his ongoing sense of humor. We will miss him dearly. Our hearts and prayers go out to Helen, Rod, Dee, Carolyn and all of the family.
With heavy heart, we are sending our love and prayers. We will cherish our happy memories of Chuck. May you find comfort in his memories also.
