Charles A. Haliburton, Jr., lovingly known to most as “Charlie”, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 4, 2017.

Visitation: Thursday, April 13, 2017 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco

Celebration of Life and Faith Service: Friday, April 14, 2017 at 10:00AM at Lake Shore Funeral Home

Burial: Oakwood Cemetery in Waco where the United States Air Force Honor Guard will render military honors. Pallbearers will be Kevin L. Harris, Jr., Michael L. Abney, Dennis Cobb, Michael Shaw, Don Miller, and Ricky Terry. Honorary Pallbearers will be Antonio Keith Haliburton, Jr., Xavier C. Williams, Willie Deaver, Glenn Haliburton, Brian Pang and Donald Pang.

“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death; I fear no evil for Thou art with me: Thou rod and Thy staff they comfort me. Thou doest prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; Thou hast anointed my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and loving kindness will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” Psalms 23:4-6

Charles A. Haliburton, Jr., lovingly known as “Pretty Charlie”, 82, was one of six children born to Charles A., Sr. and Clara Bell Brown Haliburton on July 9, 1934 in Elm Mott, Texas. Charlie attended the public schools in Waco and graduated from A. J. Moore High School. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country honorably for four years. Upon return home to Waco, he went to work for Owens Illinois Glass Plant, where he worked for over 30 years before retiring. On July 28, 1973 he was blessed to marry the love of his life, Sallie Daisy Lewis. She was his devoted wife for over 44 years with their union they raised their daughter-granddaughter, Crystal Williams.

Charles was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, who loved his family and friends. He loved riding his motorcycle with his club members of the Road Runners Motorcycle Club of Waco. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Charles A., Sr. and Clara Bell Brown Haliburton; two brothers, Alvin Haliburton and James Haliburton; two sisters, Dorothy Haliburton and Ada Faye Purnell.

Charles leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of over 44 years, Sallie Daisy Haliburton of Waco; “daughter”, Crystal Williams of Dallas; step-daughters, Shirley D. Plump Harris, Barbara Belcher and husband Mark of Waco; stepson, Michael Plump; grandson, Kevin Lee Harris, Jr. and wife Sherreta Harris of Waco; three great-grandsons, Xavier Williams and wife Preesha of Vistick, Germany, Michael Abney of Dallas and Deavon Harris of Dallas; three great-granddaughters, Xandria Williams of Little Elm, Antonette Harris of Killeen, Alyssa Harris of Dallas; sisters, Lillian Banks of Waco and Clarice Pang of Los Angeles, CA; brother, Edgar Banks of Waco; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
