Charles E. “Poor Boy” Davis, Sr., 76, of Waco passed away March 13, 2015.

Memorial Service: 3:00 p.m. Friday March 20, 2015 at Lake Shore Funeral Home

Charles was born third son of Paul and Ardelia Davis on April 7, 1938 in Waco, Texas. He attended Bosqueville School in Bosqueville and later, Waco High in Waco. He then moved to Lubbock where he met and married Bonnie Perryman. To that union one son was born. They remained together for 51 years until his death. From the love of their hearts they adopted two other children.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Henry Davis, Lorenza Davis and Floyd Davis; and four sisters, Thelma Mays, Molly Banks, Wanda Caruthers and Annie Grayson.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Bonnie Davis of Waco; sons, Charles Davis Jr. and wife, Liza, and Burnell Davis of Waco; daughter, Sherri Shannon of San Antonio; three sisters, Susan Alexander of Waco, Lula Amy and husband, Alvin of Waco, and Onita Washington and husband, Lonzell of Waco; two brothers-in-law, Donald Edwards and wife, Gloria of East St. Louis, and Lonnie Gray and wife, Lisa of Waco; six sisters-in-law, Nancy Levels and husband, George of Illinois, Patricia Mosley and husband, Sammy of East St. Louis; Ocie Salder and husband, Larry of Valley Mills, Margie Chinn and husband, David of Waco, Lovie Wilson and husband, Paul of Dallas and Jacklyn Riptoe and husband, Curtis of Hewitt; fifteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and a host of devoted relatives and very close friends.
