Alan was born in Corpus Christi, TX to Charles Alfred Ramsey and Mary Ann Green Ramsey. He graduated from Seguin High School and went on to work construction and get his license to operate cranes.

Alan’s most loved job was Rodeo. He began in Junior High going to Larry Mahan’s Rodeo School where he broke his 1st bone with many many more to follow. He then went on to find his niche in Rodeo being the Bareback Broncs. He ended up going pro in the IRA. Many buckles were won along the way but his most treasured was the 1980 IFR BAREBACK CHAMPIONSHIP

We want to thank ALL the Doctors and Nurses at Providence for all they had to do in taking care of our brother during that week he was taken in for care. We know they had to work around the clock taking care of him because we were awake waiting phone calls around the clock. We appreciate them more than they will ever know

His spirit lives on through his amazing art that brought happiness to so many. I believe if heaven has rodeos, Alan will be the first cowboy behind the shoots, in his white starched shirt, ostrich boots and spurs. I know he will still look at you , tip his hat and smile that smile that you could never forget. I would like the attend and contribute funds for the memorial service.”
