From The Freddie Holland, Sr. Family

Brent Shehorn and Family,

Sending a note of thanks for everything that you have done for my family.
Words will never be able to express the sincerity that we felt when we came to make arrangements for my dad.  Brent you are truly an angel in human form.  You treated us like family. You were patient with us as we were going this loss and we thank you for that.  Knowing what mom was going through, you made her feel at ease and confident in her decisions.  I most appreciate how you treated Daddy.  With dignity and humility, you treated him as if he were your own family.
The family atmosphere was great.  Seeing your children, your mom, your wife, and lets not forget the dog!  How welcoming is that?
Everything was perfect!
I can see how the Lord is using you and your business to minister to families of our community.  You have been placed here at this place and time for the reason of serving HIM.  What an awesome job you are doing
May the Lord continue to bless your family as well as your business as you continue to serve HIM.

Sincerely,
Robin Smith, Daughter of Freddie Holland

Brent & Carri,

“Thank you” is a simple phrase, but still it’s meant to show that we really appreciate your kindness more than than you will ever know.
God Bless You and Your Ministry.

From The Family of Shirley Peterson,

Dear Brent,
Our mother passed away on January 18, 2009. We were sad and full of emotions and not even sure on what to do. We had just lost our mother. We came to you (Lake Shore) and you eased us in to the transition. We wanted to honor her the best way and you helped us do that. We could never thank you enough for the compassion you showed toward us when we were at our worst. Your entire staff did a lovely job – from the make-up department to the DVD Life Tribute (remember the cheetah!)!
May God Bless You.

Sincerely,
Jennifer Arnold, daughter

Brent & Family,

Our family would like to take the time to tell you that we really appreciate what you have done for us these past couple of days. Not too many places – funeral homes – do things that you do. We picked the perfect card for you. The statement on the front of this card: “You Don’t Just Give, You Give From The Heart…” fits Lake Shore Funeral Home to a “T”!!
Thank you so much.

Dear Brent & Family,

Appreciation doesn’t even begin to tell you how much your knowledge, compassion and understanding meant to myself and my family. Your professional organization is the model for your profession to which all others be measured.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
May God Bless you, your family and your business!

Thanks to Brent and his family,

My mother passed away this January and Brent was there for me and my family. For the life of me, I cannot imagine why anyone in the Waco area would go anywhere else or trust anyone else with the funeral of a loved one. Lake Shore Funeral home is a family owned and operated business. Brent’s service, caring and advice fit my budget and my mother’s wishes perfectly. And, my family was impressed with everything that Lake Shore Funeral home did for my beloved mother during, as well as after her funeral. Very professional and very caring. The location is also ideal for family members coming into town to pay their last respects. It’s easy to find and located away from congested areas where other Waco funeral homes are located. So when you want to provide the best for your loved one, then please consider Lake Shore Funeral home.

Last, to Brent, his wife, father and brother, thanks so much for your help at a time in my life that was stressful.

Sincerely,
Sam Massey, son of Ethel Teal

I Never Had To Organize A Funeral Before And I Did Not Know Where To Start, So I Started By Visiting Every Funeral Home In Waco. All Were Very Helpful In Answering My Questions, But When I Walked In The Door At Lake Shore Funeral Home, I Knew That Was Where I Wanted My Husband’s Service. It Was Very Warm, Very Beautiful, And Felt Like Walking Into A Warm Friendly Church Instead Of A Funeral Home. Brent And Cari Shehorn Were So Compassionate And Sincerely Cared About Helping Me. They Actually Treated Me More Like A Family Member Than A Stranger. Brent Walked Me Through The Entire Journey And Helped Me With How I Wanted The Service. He Followed My Desires From The First To The Last Request. He Was Very Supportive. I Did Not Want And We Did Not Have A Traditional Funeral. It Was A True Celebration Service Which Is How My Husband Jerry Would Have Wanted It. All Of The Comments That I Have Received Since The Service Have Been So Positive And Reflected How They Felt Like They Had Been To Church Instead Of A Funeral. They Too Felt So Uplifted. When Brent Told Me That This Was Their Business, But It Was Also Their Ministry To Help People, I Knew That I Was In The Right Place.

When my father passed away we chose Lake Shore Funeral Home for its convenience. As my husband’s family supported us during our grief, they were impressed by the care and compassion that the Shehorn family displayed to us. As a result, Lake Shore Funeral Home was the first choice when my mother-in-law passed away three months later. Their services extend beyond caring for the deceased and the actual funeral into caring for the needs of the entire family. It was a perfect choice for all of us. We are thankful to have Lake Shore Funeral Home in our community.

Dear Brent and Carri,

This is a long overdue note to express the gratitude which I and my family feel for the wonderful way in which you handled the arrangements for Peggy Clare. I would never have believed that you could put together a memorial service as wonderful as you did in such a short time after her passing. Everything was truly perfect.

However, it was not just the service and all that goes with it that was done so well, it was obvious care, concern and compassion which was displayed toward us at all times. That only comes from the heart of one who is a committed follower of the Lord Jesus. In your case it showed, and it made a huge difference in the way I and my daughter and her family expected to feel in such a stressful time in our lives. Thank you very much.

May the Lord bless you and keep you; may the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; may the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.

Grace and Peace;
Louis O. Satterfield, Jr., husband of Peggy Clare Satterfield
