Carolyn Montgomery Dever was born to Bennie and Tommie Montgomery on a blessed and wonderful day on October 17, 1954.

Visitation: 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 4, at Lake Shore Funeral Home

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 5, at Lake Shore Funeral Home

Burial: Mount Olive Baptist Church Cemetery

She received the Lord at a very young age while attending Marshall Chapel where she grew up and flourished. Later, she united with Mt.Olive Baptist Church where she became an active member of many ministries.

Carolyn attended Waco schools, graduating from Jefferson Moore in 1973. Later she embarked on a career in the medical field. She worked at numerous nursing homes, and medical facilities before retiring from the Bellmead Kidney Center due to her health.

Carolyn united with Danny Wagoner in 1972 and, to this union, two children were born. Later in life, in the mid 90’s she united with Wayman Dever.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; her baby sister, Barbra (Rudy) Montgomery; and a devoted loving friend, Charles Oliver.

Those who are left to cherish her memory include one son, Reginald (Tasha) Wagoner of Waco; one daughter, Tammy Wagoner of Ft. Worth; Bonus daughter, Latrina Wagoner of Waco; two brothers, Marvin (Bertha)Montgomery of Conroe and Bobby (Donna) Montgomery of Waco; two sisters, Gloria Jones and Cynthia Montgomery-Long both of Waco; seven grandchildren, Xavier Wagoner, Delakia (Kareem) Adamu, Detrayten Wagoner, Deandria Wagoner, Keajua Slaughter, Rj Wagoner, and Raelyn Wagoner all of Waco; honorary sister, Sharron Keggins; two very special friends, Arnetta (Netty B) Herndon and Shirley (Jojo) Boston; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    Many blessings and my deepest sympathy at the passing of Carolyn. I taught her in the eighth grade at Wiley Middle School in 1968. We remained friends throughout the years. She never failed to reach out and touch or speak wherever we were. I’m very saddened by her passing.
