
Calvin Eugene Massingill, age 72, passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2025, in Clifton, Texas, at the Lutheran Sunset Home with his loving wife, Tressa, by his side.
Calvin was born August 20, 1952, in Dallas, Texas, to Walter Eugene Massingill and Bertha Louise (Mormon) Massingill. He lived in the Dallas area most of his life. In August of 2016 he met the love of his life, Tressa, and together they moved to Valley Mills, Texas in November of 2017. They were married on March 16, 2018, in Crawford, Texas.
Calvin was a musician in the Dallas area from the age of 13. He played with several bands including his own band, Crossover Band, until his retirement at the age of 67. He also worked in the printing business for many years.
Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, sister Patsy and brother Donald (Jabo).
He is survived by his wife, Tressa Slaughter Massingill; sister, Jacqulyn Scoggins and husband, Kenneth; daughters, Kellie Massingill and Toni Massingill; granddaughters, Lauren Massingill and Kayla Schrank; great grandson, Skylar Massingill and great granddaughter, Lila Massingill; stepson, Nick Louis and wife Kelly; step-granddaughters Olivia and Avery Louis; step-son Adam Louis and wife Kristel; step-grandsons, Samuel and Benjamin Louis andstep-granddaughter, Emily Louis; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and his band members, Harold Walker, Tim Posey and Gary Megert.
Calvin had many friends that were special to him. Calvin will be remembered for his sense of humor, loving heart, and amazing talent as a guitarist and vocalist.
He made my life bigger and better. I love you forever, your Mookie.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

So sorry for those left, but thrilled that his suffering has ended. Love ya Tressa.
