C. C. Sirkel, Jr., 72, of Lorena, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at his residence.
Visitation: 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 3, 2017 at Lake Shore Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 9:30 a.m. Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Lake Shore Funeral Home.
Burial: There will be a private interment at Killeen City Cemetery in Killeen, Texas.
The son of C. C. and Opal Aileen Everett Sirkel, he was born in Eldorado, Texas, on March 6, 1945. The family moved to Waco in 1948, where he graduated from La Vega High School in 1963.
C. C. started his printing career in 1964 at Hill Printing Company. He worked in several printing companies in Central Texas, then Dallas, before settling back in Waco. In 1975, he met the love of his life, Linda Kay Stanford, while working at Reisinger Printing Company. The two of them married on September 4, 1976, and opened their own printing company, Universal Printing Specialties. In 1979, they bought Waco Printing and Stationery, and ran the company until 2015.
Several years before closing the print shop, C. C. accepted the position as the manager of Waco Lions Park and Den, which for the first few years was a volunteer position. It was during this time that he realized his passion in life– restoring Waco Lions Park (Kiddieland). He was adamant that Waco needed a place for families – especially those with young children – to have fun and enjoy an amusement park setting without having to spend an exorbitant amount of money. Kiddieland has been enjoyed for generations and, thanks to C. C.’s hard work and dedication, will be enjoyed for more generations to come.
C. C. became a Mason in 1982, at Baylor Lodge No. 1235, A. F. & A. M. He held several positions including Chaplain, before serving two consecutive years as Worshipful Master of Baylor Lodge from June 1985 until March 1987. He was given a Life Membership in Baylor Lodge in 1986. In 1995, he also became a plural and endowed member of Waco Lodge No. 92. He was later presented with the Golden Trowel award from Waco Lodge No. 92.
In addition, C. C. held the offices of District Deputy Grand Master and Masonic Relations Officer, in 1997 and 1998 respectively, for The Masonic Grand Lodge of Texas A. F. & A. M. He was also a member of Waco Commandery, Scottish Rite, Waco Chapter and Council, and Karem Shrine, where he received a Life Membership.
C. C. became a Lion in 1979 with the Heart of Texas Lions Club, later transferring to the Waco Founder Lions Club. As a Lion, he served as District Governor for District 2X-3 from 2009 to 2010. He was a Past President of both Waco Heart of Texas Lions Club and Waco Founder Lions Club. Waco Founder Lions Club recently presented him the Melvin Jones Award. He was also a Century Club member for Lions Camp in Kerrville.
C. C. was preceded in death by his parents, C. C. and Aileen Sirkel; sister, Clara Jane Sirkel; brother, Everett Lee Sirkel; and daughter, Alicia Marie McMahen.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Linda Stanford Sirkel; son, Charles Clifton Sirkel and wife Carla; daughter, Stacy Ann Sirkel; and son, Jason Randolph Sirkel and wife Michaelina; grandchildren, Maggie Sue Lindsey and husband Bradley; Reiley Calu; Jason Randolph Sirkel, Jr.; Caleb Michael Sirkel; Samuel C. Sirkel; and Christian Dean Sirkel; and great-grandchildren Layken Brooke Lindsey and Randall Cole Lindsey.

As busy as CC was in the community, he still made time for helping me when I was a single parent (his neighbor) except when I had a snake in the house! He hated them as much as I did! I should have known to get Linda over here instead! I will miss my constant hunt for golf balls as I mow.
