Ronald Dale “Butch” Jones

Ronald Dale “Butch” Jones, 62, of China Spring, passed away peacefully early Monday morning April 20, 2020 at Providence Hospice Place in Waco.

Visitation: 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 23, at Lake Shore Funeral Home.

Due to the current COVID-19 regulations, guests must remain in their vehicles as they pass through the covered area where the family will greet you

Memorial Service: Will be announced at a later date

Known to all as “Butch” he was born July 30, 1957 in Waco. Butch graduated from La Vega I.S.D, class of ‘75 and attended TSTC. He worked at Lone Star Gas Co. for over 17 years. With his entrepreneurial spirit he chose to own and operate his own business, Jim’s Krispy Chicken in Bellmead for 6 years.

Butch will be missed by all who knew him for his “never met a stranger” attitude, great sense of humor, and his ready laughter. Our “Papa” as he liked to be called by his granddaughters was an amazing husband, father, brother and friend. Butch married his high school sweetheart, Pam, and they were married for over 40 years. They had two sons, Matthew and Christopher Jones. Butch loved to play golf, fish, hunt and collect auto memorabilia. His love of classic cars and trucks was a joy that he shared with his boys. He took pride working in the yard, caring for the garden, flowers and pecan trees. Papa’s joy in life was being a family man and being the biggest fan of his three granddaughters and two daughters-in-law for the bond they all shared as he often referred to them as “Papa’s girls”. Butch was proud to be one of the founding members of the “Good Friday Golf Tournament”. The tournament has now been renamed the “Butch Classic” and has grown over 25 years to more than 70 golfers.

He was welcomed in heaven by his parents, Royce and Maynell Jones.

Butch is survived by his wife, Pam Jones; sons, Matt Jones and wife, Jessica, of China Spring and Chris Jones and wife, Kristen of West; granddaughters, Kinsley, Kyndal and Indiana Jones; brother, Darrell Jones and wife, Shari, of Bellmead; sister, Deanna Harris of Bellmead; and nieces, Adrienne Thiele and Ashley Anderson of West.
