Visitation: 6PM Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel.

Brandon Taylor Ray, 29, of Waco passed away suddenly at his home March 17, 2022. His family is shocked and deeply saddened by his loss.

Brandon, aka Bubba or Big Boi, was born January 1, 1993 to Gina Ray and Ricardo Vera. He was a very special baby from the moment he was born, spending most of the first year of his life in the hospital due to RSV and breathing complications. As he grew older he became the typical energetic little boy full of love and laughter.

He attended grade school at Connally ISD, where he met some of his closest friends. As a teenager he spent most of his weekend at the Heart of Texas Speedway watching stock racing or if he wasn’t there you could find him at Skate Country, the local skating rink, speed skating with his friends.

In 2015 Brandon met the love of his life Katherine Klutts- Ray. They shared so many common interests, they became inseparable. Together they became members of a local car club, Unleashed Beast Car Club, and enjoyed attending car meets and events hosted by the club. Realizing they were soul mates they decided to make it official, and  April 21, 2018 they married, and became a family.

Any person that ever-crossed paths with Brandon instantly loved him. He was such a jokester and kid and heart you couldn’t help but to laugh and be happy when in his presence, that one person you’d consider family. He’d do anything for anyone at any time of day or night. No matter what you could definitely count on Big Boi to come through, no question asked.

He is preceded in death by his Mema, Mary Ray- Duckett and his beloved mother Gina Kaye Ray.

He is survived by his wife Katherine “Kari” Ray; step-son’s, Dane and Xander Meyer; sister, Kayla of Waco and husband Raul “Rudy” Escobar Sr.; niece’s and nephew, Alayna, Lilyanna, Rhianna, Olivia, and Raul “Baby Rudy” Escobar; brother, Ricardo Vera Jr. and  fiance Heather Beatrice of Victoria, and their two boys, Ricardo Vera lll and Liam Vera. Many other family members including cousins, aunts, uncles, bonus family, and last but not least many, many, many friends.

As a family we would like to express our sincerest gratitude, from all the support and donations to calls, messages, and kind words. -Thank you!
