Billy Rush Connor, born August 26, 1937, in Marlin, passed away December 8, 2010, at age 73, after a lengthy illness. He was raised, and lived most of his adult life in Marlin where he actively participated in sports, graduating Marlin High School in 1955, going on to attend Texas Tech, Sam Houston, and Stephen F. Austin Universities.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rush and Myrtle Connor, and sons Bobby Russ, and Billy Rush Connor II, all of Marlin.

He is survived by daughter, Tam DuBose, son-in-law Crockett, and grandsons, Drew and Connor, and his wife, Meredith; daughter, Terri Connor, grand- daughter Ashley Bounds, son-in-law Bryan, and great-grandchildren Gavin and Bella, all of the Houston area.

For many years, Billy was self-employed, owning and operating Connor
