Bill Walsleben, 76, of Waco, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2018 at his residence.

Visitation: 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, at Park Lake Baptist Church, 3701 N. 27th Street, in Waco

Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, Park Lake Baptist Church.

Bill was born in Waco on September 19, 1941 to William and Flora (Mitchell) Walsleben. He spent his early years in Valley Mills, Clifton, and Rosenthal. The family moved to Waco during Bill’s second grade year. He graduated from Waco High in 1960.

He spent his working life selling and servicing cash registers and plumbing supplies.

He was an active and loving member of his church. There wasn’t a person in the neighborhood that didn’t know him, and he was well loved by everyone he came in contact with.

Bill truly personified Matthew 22:37-39. You must love the Lord your God with all your heart. Equally important is love your neighbor as yourself.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and an infant brother.

He is survived by his loving family; his wife, Karen; children, Lisa Finkenbiner and her husband, Lee, Laura Langdale and her husband, Steve, Linda Snodgrass and her husband, Duane, Beth Ann Brown and her husband, Clint, Jason Hoskins and his wife, Chelse; eight grandchildren, Christopher Chappell, Meagan Rodriguez, Brittany Finkenbiner, Nicholas Langdale, Roen Hoskins, Cayden and Easton Brown and Robert Hoskins; and four great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Family in Crisis Fund through Park Lake Drive Baptist Church.

Condolence from SN on June 9th, 2018 9:42 pm

Please accept my sincere sympathy in the loss of your loved one.
At a sad time as this, the Bible gives us comfort at Revelation 21:3,4 where God promises to eliminate sickness, sorrow and death in the future. What a wonderful time when we no longer have to face these enemies.
I hope this scripture gives you some consolation.

We are so sorry for your loss. Bill was a very good friend to our family. He and Buddy were so close. When I lost 6 pints of blood, Billy stepped up and gave his blood to help me. After Buddy’s passing, he comforted and supported all of us. Our prayers are with you.

I have many fond memories of Billy.
When we were young. One of him picking a tomato out of the garden and biting it discovering that there was a worm in it.
Bill was like his dad. Sorry Karen, you and your family are in my prayers
Love
Sylvia Jo

Condolence from Jamie Tenberg on June 12th, 2018 1:08 pm

I called him Billy. He was my dad’s best friend and like an uncle to me growing up. Billy was the best man at my mom and dad’s wedding, a pallbearer at my dad’s funeral, and (as my mom wrote above) literally helped save my mom’s life. Billy was always a lot of fun to be around and had a way of making people feel welcomed. I am very sad to hear of his passing, but I know he is having a great time in heaven with some dear friends and loved ones who have gone before him as well as his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. (I can’t help but wonder what escapades Billy is up to with my dad and Ken now that they’ve been reunited). 🙂

It is hard to say goodbye but always easier when you know one day you will get to say hello again. My love and prayers go out to his family…especially Lisa, Laura, and Linda because I know how hard it is to lose your daddy.

Bill and Karen are my best friends Bill took me me walking , me using my walker and I know Bill walked alot faster but that was the kind of person Bill was, he always thought of everyone. Bill taught me so much about trees and acorns etc. and if didn’t know the answer He would say. “Well Gloria that’s the way GOD made them” I know GOD made Bill so Nice and kind. because that’s the way GOD made him. I know I want to Live Like Bill did.❤
