Betty Jo Hawkins, 82 of Waco, died peacefully on June 16, 2016.

Visitation: Saturday, June 25, 2016 from 10:30AM to 12:00PM at Lake Shore Funeral Home

Betty was born June 28, 1933 in Weatherford, Texas to the late Travis and Eva Copeland Farrar. Betty married the love of her life, Fred Hawkins on February 6, 1954 in Tupelo, MS. Betty was passionate about her family and deeply loved being a Mother and Grandma. Betty is preceded in death by her parents; Travis and Eva Farrar; her husband of over 62 years, Fred Hawkins; her siblings, Gladys Garrett, Mamie Hicks and Travis Farrar; and her brothers-in-law, Archie Stover and Royal Hicks.

Betty leaves to cherish her memory on through her son, Aaron Hawkins and his wife Ashley; grandson, Anthony Hawkins; sisters, Zula Stover and Lola Hicks; nieces, Becky Woolever and her husband Rick and Sue Rasul and her husband Aziz; nephews, Calvin Stover and his wife Barbara and Randy Stover and his wife Fae; along with numerous other loving family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations should be sent to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

    Betty, you are so loved by all! We miss you so much!. Thank you for being a part of our family and loving Tracy as your daughter. One of my fondest memories was at Christmas time shopping with you, Tracy and Bonnie in downtown Waco. We had a fun day together that day. I’ll never forget seeing you sitting and relaxing around Lakeshore Estates with Tracy and friends in the afternoon and evening hours! Always a calming and sweet person to be around.
