Betty Ashmore, 71, of Waco, passed away Tuesday, September 9th.

Memorial Service: 10AM Saturday, September 13th at New Road Church of Christ, 3100 New Rd., Waco 76706

Betty was born in Mississippi to the late J.B. and Eppie Ashmore.  Betty  became a Licensed Vocational Nurse which gave her the ability to work with the elderly, something she thoroughly enjoyed.   Being a LVN meant more to her than just caring for sick people.  Betty always went above and beyond the call of duty because she wanted to make a difference in the lives of her patients.  Just as Betty cared for her patients, she also cared deeply for animals.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by many brothers; sisters; nieces; nephews; and other family members.

Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guestbook at LakeShoreFuneralHome.com

Condolence Messages

  1. I will always be grateful to Betty for “loving on” my mom, Jo Hearn, for many months at Wesley Woods. “Loving on” goes far beyond “taking care of” a patient as an LVN. I never worried when Betty was in charge, because I knew she’d get my mom to take her meds – or whatever was needed – in a manner that was both loving and firm. Anyone who saw Betty’s interaction with the residents at Wesley Woods could tell that she truly CARED about her patients as people. It made me smile to see Mom’s picture with Betty in this video tribute. I have no doubt that these 2 sweet ladies are both smiling in heaven now.
    — from a thankful daughter
