Aristotle Deloney

Aristotle Deloney, 83, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2019.

Service Information: Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 28, at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Aristotle Quincy Deloney, 83, was born December 11, 1935 in Mineral Springs, Arkansas to the late Thomas Jefferson and Arbella Deloney (an  avid evangelist in the community). He married Alean Adams in 1953; to this union two sons were born.

His early years of education were in Mineral Springs, Arkansas. He worked at UCLA while attending barber college. Aristotle owned barber  shops in Watts and in Compton California for approximately 35 years. He moved to Waco in 2005 and worked in his barber shop before joining the staff at All Stars Barber Shop in McGregor, Texas.  He was an avid golfer and enjoyed bowling.

Aristotle was a very sporty dresser with a love for golf, sporting events, horse races and casinos. His smile and laughter were infectious. He enjoyed initiating spirited debates with others.

He professed his belief in Christ at a young age and reaffirmed his belief prior to his death.

Aristotle was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Jefferson and Arbella Deloney; his second wife, Merreadith Deloney to whom he was  married for many years; two sisters, Betty Clark, and Simmie Johnson; three brothers, Lenn Charles Deloney, Glenn Deloney, and Thomas Jefferson Deloney, Jr.

He leaves to cherish is memory his sons, Reginald (Vickie) Deloney of Mansfield, Texas, and Quincy Deloney of Palms Springs California; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a very special friend, Georgia King and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

    I just found out about Mr. Deloney’s passing. I was the Realtor that sold his house a few years back. I had the best time visiting with him. He was definitely a snappy dresser. He also talked about his very special lady friend. I thought it was so sweet. My heart goes out to the family.
