Our precious and loving mother, Ann Cox, 81, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2021
Service Information: A service of remembrance will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 20, at Lake Shore Funeral Home in Waco. Interment will follow the service in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
She was born March 2, 1940. Ann was the oldest of nine children born to Isaac Alfred Brooker and Mary Alice Brooker. Ann met the love of her life, Don Cox, at an early age and the two were married two years later. They celebrated 59 years of marriage before Don passed away on Feb. 5, 2014.
Ann worked as a Registered Nurse and diabetes educator at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center and was recognized as a Hillcrest Hero before retiring.
Her eldest son, Don Allen Cox, passed away after a long illness on January 19, 2009.
Ann is survived by brother, Richard “Frosty” Brooker of Willis, TX; sister, Becky Brooker Roberts of Mineral Wells, TX; four children, Cathey Cox Lenhart and husband, Ed, of Sun City, AZ, James Cox and wife, Falen, of Riesel, TX, Nancy Cox Talley of Waco, TX, and Darron Cox of Waco, TX. In addition, she had 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
