Andres Eliseo Gomez passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2022.

Visitation: 11AM Saturday, December 3 at Parkview Baptist Church.

Funeral Service: 12PM Saturday, December 3 at Parkview Baptist Church. Burial to follow at Moore Cemetery in Chalk Bluff, Texas.

Andres Eliseo Gomez was born April 25, 1982 in Houston. He was the second child of Marco and Lucila Gomez. Andres loved spending time with family, playing with his toys and throwing his sippy cup at his siblings, especially his sisters.

Four is a uniquely significant number in the Bible. Its significance to creation is the reason angels send this number to people to signify the beginning of a new era in their life, and that is exactly what Andres did for the Gomez family. He was the child that made the Gomez family a family of 4. He was born on the 4th Sunday, April 1982, 4lbs. 4 oz., with doctors saying he wouldn’t make it. They said if he were to make it that he would only live to his teens at the most, but God had other plans. Against all odds, Andres made it to the age of 40 years old, going home to be with the Lord at 4:24 am. He proved science wrong as we all know that God is the one that has the final say. Andres, you are now HEALED and in the arms of Jesus. We know this isn’t goodbye, but until we meet again.

There’s significance to the day that Andres went home to be with the Lord, St. Andrew’s Day.

“St. Andrew was Jesus’ first disciple. Andrew was a fisherman before he and his brother, Simon Peter, became two of the twelve disciples of Jesus. He was baptized by John the Baptist. In the Greek Orthodox tradition, He is known as “Protokletos” which literally translates “the first-called”, which is exactly what God had planned for Andres, to be the first called home to be with Him. (Thank you to prima Maribel Gomez for sharing this with our family and reminding us that Andres going home to be with the Lord is a day of celebration, not sorrow.)

Andres is survived by his parents, Marco and Lucila Gomez; brother, Marco Gomez Jr.; sisters, Rosalinda Escarsega, Alitza Gomez, Eidel Adams, Leili Gibbs, Mahira Baldridge, and Elisabet Gomez; as well as 18 nieces and nephews.

Place of Service: Parkview Baptist Church , 1100 East Lake Shore Drive; Waco, TX 76708
