Amy Eugenia Gray, 92, of Waco passed away on December 21, 2021. Ms. Gray was born in Gannon on February 22, 1929. She was raised in Sweetwater and then relocated to Waco in 1951. Ms. Amy Gray as her name implies was well loved. She was affectionately known by all as Mema or Gene. She was a hardworking individual who loved her family, children, grandchildren and friends very much. She retired from Marathon Battery after 29 years of service. She enjoyed socializing, being humorous, cooking, entertaining, helping others and when she was able in her younger years, you could find her planting food or her flowers. Ms. Gray prided herself on keeping a very manicured yard. Ms. Gray enjoyed going to eat on Sundays with her children and was very vested in knowing the latest scoop on her soap opera dramas.
Ms. Gray is survived by her four children, Linda Brekel of Waco, Jo Ann Martin Lynch of Waco, Robert and Rebecca Martin of Waco, and Barbara and Rick Moore of Saginaw; 13 grandchildren, Cindy and Kenneth Webre, Christopher and Mandy Tindell, Sarah Brekel, Stacy and Orlando Rodriguez, Kevin Lynch, Alvin and Melanie Lynch, Angela and Jason Remich, Theresa and Michael Martinez, Angela Martin, Eric Martin, Robert Lee and Jamie Martin Jr, Steven and Lisa Moore, Stephanie and Wayne Cook; 23 great grandchildren: Keith Webre, Kolby Webre, Korey Webre, Leighton Tindell, Keaton Tindell, Cayson Tindell, Gavin Tindell, Gage Tindell, Jordan Harrelson, Cody Remich, MaKayla
Martinez, Melissa Martinez, Kaleb Martin, Kayden Martin, Aaron Mynar, Kaiden Moore, Michelle Cook, Michael Cook, Matthew Cook, Ayden Rodriguez, Lauren Lynch, Alvin Lynch Jr: 1 great great grandchild: Kamdyn Webre, nieces, nephews and many other family members.
Ms. Gray was proceeded in death by her son, Kenneth Taylor; parents Eva Lou and Wade Hayes; siblings, Ruth, Randall, Bud, Claude, Merle and Peggy.
The family had a private ceremony on 12/22/2021 at Lakeshore Funeral Home.
