Alvin Ray Rice of Moody, Texas entered the gates of Heaven March 5, 2022 at the age of 74. He was born in Waco January 26, 1948. He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn J (Westerman), daughters Kathy Green (Russell) of Corpus Christi, Tammy Sheffield (Rick) of Corsicana, Melissa Brown of Waco, son Michael Rice of Bruceville, and step-daughter Tana Rose of Waco.

His sisters, Sandra Fellers (Troy) of Moody, Carolyn A Rice of McGregor, brothers Roger Rice (Mel) of Moody and William Rice of Waco also mourn Alvin’s passing, along with a slew of grand and great grand children and many nieces and nephews.

Alvin was preceded in death by his parents Cameron and Molly Rice (Moran) and brothers, Ronnie, George, Jimmy, and Roy Rice.

Al loved riding his motorcycle on long trips with family and friends, it has been said that, “he never met a stranger.” He was a decorated patriot who served in the United States Navy, as well as the United States Army. Ever the public servant after leaving the military he became a police office with the City of Waco, and eventually found his true passion behind the wheel of a big rig. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
