Angela Yvonne Johnson Ervin

ErvinJohnson

Angela Yvonne Johnson Ervin, 53, of Richardson, Texas, fell asleep in death on Saturday, March 1, 2025.

Memorial Visitation: 10:00 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Lake Shore Funeral Home.

Angela was born on May 12, 1971 in Waco, Texas to Albert and Carolyn (Crain) Johnson.

Angela was raised in Waco, Texas and graduated from Waco High School as a proud member of the class of 1989.  During her tertiary education, Angela pursued and received additional degrees and certifications with emphasis in the fields of business and management.  Angela applied her expertise and thrived within multiple roles, excelling as a General Manager for various restaurants. She also took great pride in her work as a Director of Catering Operations for WolfGang Puck and other, prestigious, global restaurant brands.

On January 24th, 1996, Angela welcomed the greatest joy of her life, her precious daughter, Jada.  Angela’s smile was truly brightest when she was around or discussing Jada, whom she affectionately referred to as, “Jada Lou”, “Jada Bug”, and her “Heartbeat”.

Culinary arts were among Angela’s innumerable talents.  She was an expert in the kitchen and in planning exquisite menus for every occasion.

Angela’s diligence and determination resulted in distinctive accomplishments, including establishing and managing her own business while working alongside her favorite person, her daughter, Jada.  Angela’s brand and food won “Best Southern Style” in her first competition, standing out among hundreds of food vendors.

Angela also delighted in music, reading, poetry, dancing, basketball, and the Dallas Cowboys.  Angela’s incomparable laughter, sense of humor, and warm hugs will be missed dearly.

Angela loved in abundance and deeply, always bringing tremendous joy to others with her incredibly contagious smile and acts of love, which usually entailed planning and preparing the most delectable meals, including desserts.

Angela never missed an opportunity to demonstrate love and communicate concern, using her gifts of making every person who knew her truly experience being loved and cared for in only ways that she, in the most remarkable means, could express.

Angela was preceded in death by her daughter, Kai Lois Ervin; her parents Albert and Carolyn Johnson; paternal grandparents, AJ and Inez Johnson; and maternal grandparents, Rotain (Doc) and Lena Mae Crain.

Angela leaves behind to celebrate the beautiful life she lived and to cherish her memory, beloved daughter, Jada Louella Martin; an endearing sister, Barbara, and brother-in-law, Tyrone Johnson, whom Ann viewed as her brother; two, dear brothers and their wives whom Angela called her sisters, Ryan (April) Johnson and Bryan (Myana) Johnson; five, precious nephews, Grant Ethan Hicks, Matthew Bryan Johnson, Jacob Cameron Johnson, Carson Edward Johnson, and Riley Albert Johnson.

Angela also leaves a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends who mourn her passing.

Scriptures which provide comfort and hope to Angela’s loved ones:

“Love is patient and kind . . . It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.  Love never fails.

and 7 through 8

“She prepares herself for hard work, And she strengthens her arms.

-Proverbs Chapter 31 Verse 17

“So you also, now you have grief; but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.

-John Chapter 16 Verse 22

“I will comfort them and give them joy instead of their grief.

-Jeremiah Chapter 31 Verse 13

The Johnson family would like to extend sincere gratitude for your prayers offered on our behalf, the love you have shown us, and your support. Your acts, motivated by concern and love, have increased our faith, encouraged our hearts, given us strength, and reminded us also of God’s love for us.  Every expression of sympathy has sustained and comforted our family.  We pray that God continues to show loyal love to each of you and bless your kindness during this time of indescribable grief.

Angel, I am really sorry that you are gone from this world but you will always be in my heart as my favorite cousin with that big smile and that funny laugh. I know God had a plan for you and you will be greatly missed and (Yes, you are the better Cook!) I love you so much and I am going really miss you. The time we had together at Crawford at Grandma and Grandpa house, playing baseball and football next to the house and getting in trouble. The time that you lived in Oak Cliff, we’d go to different restaurants to eat and try all the local spots we saw on T.V. I will always remember that. Brenda, Maxx and I are really going miss you.
