Wilbert Lee Woodard passed away Wednesday May 24, 2023.

Goodbye Visitation: 2 – 4PM Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel 2.

Wilbert was born September 2, 1938 in Aquilla, Texas. He was the second child of Roy Frank and Ruby Woodard. They lived in Aquilla and then moved to Waco, Texas.

Wilbert graduated from University High School. He went on to learn AutoCAD at TSTC. He started working for the City of Waco in the Engineering Department. He retired from the City of Waco after 27 years of service on September 19, 1997.

Wilbert married Leah Kaye Park. They had two children, Melissa, and Gregory Woodard.

Wilbert’s Hobbies were fishing, playing Pool, gardening, reading about Waco history, and his chickens. He loved riding in the country, and he loved his family.

Wilbert was preceded in Death by his father, Roy Frank Woodard; mother, Ruby Woodard; brother, Roy Lewis Sr.; brother, Claude Ray Sr.; and daughter, Melissa Lee.

Wilbert is survived by his son, Gregory Woodard (Gretchen); granddaughters, Whitney Panter (Johnathan), and Caleigh Woodard (Joe); grandsons Michael Guthrie (Haley), and Zack Salapatas; great grandchildren, Allison Panter, Marilu Guthrie, and Grayson Guthrie; siblings, David Woodard (Joann), Mary Linda (Sissy) Magee, Margaret Philyaw (Marlin) and Martha Bradshaw; and numerous nieces and nephews.
