Martha (Raber) Bancroft, 97, of Waco, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2020.

Martha was born on April 6, 1922 at home on her family’s farm in Eureka, Kansas. Marrying George Bancroft in 1952, they moved to Ohio. In 1971 they moved to Arizona and then Waco in 1986. At the age of 90, Martha moved to Stilwell Retirement Residence where she made many wonderful friends. A lover of crossword puzzles, she also enjoyed playing bingo, Bridge and Skip-Bo. Martha was a woman of grace, love, grit, and a little sparkle.
Martha is survived by her daughters, Nancy Day and Jill (Bob) Ralston; grandchildren, Kyle Mullis, Jessica (Dr. Lauren Smith) Mullis, Marta (Kyle) Johns and Bradley (Amber) Ralston; and great-grandchildren, Hadley, Otto, Jackson and Leo.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Stilwell Retirement Residence, 5400 Laurel Lake Dr., Waco, Texas 76710 or St. Albans Episcopal Church, 305 N. 30th Street, Waco, Texas 76710.

Condolences for the family of “Martha (Raber) Bancroft”
Martha was one of the first friends I made at Stilwell. I always thought of her as the “finished lady” . She was always perfectly groomed, hair and makeup in place with jewelry that matched each outfit. Her voice was so sweetly soft and always encouraging.
I will truly miss this wonderful lady.
Martha and I discovered we were “birthday twins”. It was so great to see her at church. She was always beautiful and that smile! Wow! It was blessing to have known her through the years.
Bill and I met Martha and Jim at St. Alban’s. We were in a small group together. She and Jim gave us the devotional, My Utmost for His Highest, in 1996 that we used for many years every morning. We visited with her in December when we went to Stilwell Christmas Caroling. She looked so good and was the same outgoing, loving lady she has always been. She loved people and loved life. She will be missed. Loved you, Martha!

I am so sorry to learn of Martha’s Passing, Nancy she was an elegant lady. I know you & your family will miss her greatly. Love you my friend. Martha Bancroft may you rest in peace beside your beloved husband George. She made me laugh & was such a kind person. Love you Martha.

Nancy, your mom Martha was such a joy and a beautiful lady inside and out! I’ve never met such a caring lady who was classic and will be genuinely missed. I loved visiting with her every time she visited the shop.

Martha was such a great lady. I got to know her while I worked at St. Alban’s. Always loved chatting with her and he great smiles and advice. She will be missed terribly. Rest in Peace Martha.
