A.W. “Waymon” Kruger, 75, of Weatherford, passed away Saturday, November 12th at his residence.

Funeral Service: 3PM Tuesday, November 15th at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive visitors in Waco one hour prior to the service.

Graveside Service: 11AM Wednesday, November 16th at Fairview Cemetery in Millsap, Parker County.

Waymon was born on July 14, 1941 in Hamilton. He married the love of his life and moved to Weatherford, where they raised their family. He worked in the railroad industry for 49 years, retiring in 2008. Waymon was a devoted husband and loving father and grandfather. He had a strong work ethic and was well respected. His faith was also strong and he was loved by all.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Opal Gail Kruger; grandson, Samuel Conor Kruger; and his parents, Arnold M. and Laura L. (Merrill) Kruger.

Waymon is survived by his sons, A.W. Kruger, II and wife Vicki, and Michael Ray Kruger and wife Wendi; daughter, Donna Gail Lucia and husband Tommy Joe; grandchildren, Trey Kruger, Kaleb Kruger and wife Kailin, Chase Lucia, Mikalyn Kruger, Nick Lucia, and Cameron Kruger. Waymon is also survived by a sister, Joyce Elaine Kruger-Holland; a brother, Richard Kruger and wife Kathleen; many loving nieces and nephews; numerous relatives; and his railroad family.

Waymon will be missed dearly but we are all assured he and Gail are making ready for our arrival to heaven.

  10. How do you say goodbye to someone you always look forward to seeing. It is a huge hole to fill. Although I hadn’t seen him in years he was always in my thoughts. My heart an prayers goes out to his family. I know their loss is bigger than anyone that knew him. They should know that he was loved by many and will be missed the same. Another old head gone west.
