Teddy Lee Lewis

LEWIS1

Teddy Lee Lewis entered Heavenly sleep Saturday, October 28, 2017 in Waco, Texas.

Memorial Service: A private celebration of life will be held at the home of a dear friend on Wednesday, November 1, 2017. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Community Misfits Animal Rescue.

Ted was born August 4, 1950 in Columbus, Texas, the second child of four born to Vernon Lee Lewis and Evelyn Estelle Scoggins Lewis. Ted was a diehard Texan, but moved around the United States and even to Spain as the child of an Air Force Captain.

After a time in the United States Air Force himself, Ted settled down in the DFW Metroplex. One summer day in 1983, Ted met the love of his life, Karen Lynn Bittola, while in Hammond, Louisiana for work. After a ten-day courtship, they were married and Karen became a Texan too. In 1987, they welcomed their only their only child, Jessica Ann Lewis. Ted worked hard as their provider and never once uttered a complaint or foul word. Most of his career was spent as a truck driver and then he later transitioned into warehouse management. He worked until he absolutely couldn’t anymore, doing anything for his girls. All who knew him said he was just an all-around cool guy, and one of the kindest, most genuine souls.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Evelyn Lewis; sisters, Shirley Lewis Frederick and Tereasa “Terri” Lewis; and son, Jeremy Lee Lewis. He also has two special pups, Sherman and Summer, waiting for him at the Rainbow Bridge.

Ted is survived by his loving wife of over 34 years, Karen Lynn Bittola Lewis; his daughter, Jessica Lewis Mauzey and her husband, Tim Mauzey; as well as his furry companion, Mr. Ike. He also leaves behind three furry grand-dogs and a step-grandson, Zachary Mauzey. Ted also had a large extended family full of cousins, nieces and nephews that loved him so! He will be missed dearly by all of his family and friends.
