Biography

Selma Schumann, 99, of Hamilton, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2010 at a Hamilton nursing center. Graveside services will be 10AM Wednesday, March 3rd at St. John’s Cemetery near Priddy, TX with her nephew, Pastor Lewis Lynn Lubke officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lake Shore Funeral home in Waco.

Selma was born March 17, 1910 in Topsey to William and Sophie (Struempler) Falkenberg. She married Walter Hermann Schumann on October 4, 1936 in Topsey.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four sisters, Nora Headge, Annie Kanz, Mamie Lytton, and Alma Sumbeling; and daughter-in-law, Carolyn Schumann.

Survivors include daughter, Ella Mae Schumann of Hamilton; sons, Charles Schumann of Hamilton and Gary Schumann and wife, Sherry of Pottsville; eight grandchildren, Sherry Woodyard and husband, Curtis of Austin, Charlene Glimp and husband, Bryan of Hutto, Sharla Resseguie of Cedar Park, Charlie Schumann of Hamilton, Jennifer Sinyard and husband, Billy of Gatesville, Jamie Schumann and wife, Laura of Lamkin, Jessica Lloyd and husband, Vennie of Pottsville, and Jared Schumann of Hamilton; 14 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
