Miss Sandina Traplena, 89, of Waco passed away on Monday, November 3, 2014, at a local care facility.
Graveside Services: 2PM Saturday, November 8th at Oakwood Cemetery with Monsignor Mark Deering officiating.
Rosary: 6PM Friday, November 7th at Lake Shore Funeral Home. Visitation will follow until 8PM.
Sandina was born March 6, 1925 to Sam F. and Mary (Barcelono) Traplena in Waco. Our Aunt Sandy devoted her life to giving glory and honor to her Heavenly Father, to giving love and commitment to her family and in the process bringing light and purity to every path she crossed. She has blessed this earth with the legacy of true surrender to Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
Sandina was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Frank P. Traplena; and nephew, Michael Traplena.
Survivors include her nephew, Frank Traplena and wife, BecKee of Crawford; niece, Lisa D. Traplena of Houston; great nieces, Angi T. Johnson and husband, Justin of Belton, Ashley R. Morris of Houston; and great-great nephews, T.J., Trap, and Ty Johnson.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to the first floor staff of St. Catherine Center for the loving care they gave to their beloved Aunt Sandy.
Pallbearers will be Justin Johnson, T.J. Johnson, Jim Wetzel, Michael Simon, Dwayne Densman and Gary Abood.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Louis Catholic Church, the Mark Deering Foundation or the charity of one’s choice.
