Mona Delores Haralson, 88, of Waco, passed away Sunday, September 28th at St. Catherine Center Nursing Home.
Delores was born October 13, 1925 in Lubbock, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Marvin Lee Haralson, Sr., and daughter, Debra Sue Menefee. Her parents, Alton Buice, Sr. and Mona Johnson. Step-mother, Myrtle Richards Buice. Brothers, Alton Jr., Billy, Bobby, and Donny.
Survivors include children, Marvin Haralson, Jr. and wife Helen of Waco, Linda Haralson of Waco, Fred Haralson and wife Ginny of Dallas; grandchildren, Jason Haralson and wife Brandy of Zephyr, Hilary Fosse and husband Brian of Hudson Oaks, Staley Justice and husband Chad of Waco, Aaron Haralson of Dallas, Christy Haralson of Nashville, TN, Cody Menefee of Waco, Casey Menefee of Auburn, California; great-grandchildren, Camryn Menefee of Waco, and Jaydon Ezra of Zephyr; sister, Sarah Wallace and husband Jerry of Dallas; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Delores was married to Marvin Sr. on May 24, 1942, at the home of her parents in Waco, TX. She & Marvin, Sr. celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on May 25, 2002 at the Third Street Baptist Church in Waco. For many years she worked in the gift wrapping department at Cox’s Department Store, retiring at the age of 65.
Graveside service was held at the China Spring Cemetery Friday, October 3, 2014.
The family extends a very special thanks to Mary Garcia, Dianne Dixon, and all the 4th floor nursing staff at St. Catherine Center who were so loving and caring.
