Michele Laurie De Filippis , 62, most recently of Waco, passed away Monday, November 20th, 2017. Michele Laurie De Filippis was born December 30th, 1954 in Seattle, Washington the youngest of five children born the union of Michael and Mabel. Being the youngest in the family definitely made Michele a character of her own, as she was a very independent, intelligent, and strong willed women who always displayed confidence. She possessed a selfless, caring, and loving persona that intrigued everyone she met. As someone who didn’t have a stingy bone in her body, Michele was such a giving soul, who never hesitated to offer help or assistance to anyone in need.

Growing up in Seattle, Michele attended schools at St. Therese, Immaculate Conception, and Roosevelt High School. After graduation, she attended a couple community colleges in the area, and began her career in Customer Service. Michele worked for Washington Natural Gas which later became Puget Sound Energy for over 20 years. Although she loved the beauty of nature such as the lakes, mountains, and wildlife that Washington State offered; Michele decided it was time to fulfill her passion of traveling.

Throughout her journey in Washington, Arizona, Alabama, and Texas, she found that many things would change. But one thing that stayed constant was the love she had for her children, and grandchildren. No matter the distance she always wanted to make sure that as a family they would each stay connected to one another. As a mother she was very dedicated to her children for they were her pride and joy.

Michele was preceded in death by grandparents, Mary De Filippis, Nicholas De Filippis, and Annie Satchel; father, Michael De Filippis; brothers, Eugene Gray and Lawrence De Filippis; sister, Yvonne Cherry; brother-in- law, Vernon Cherry; and sister-in-law, Karyn Gray.

Michele leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Mabel Gillis; brother, Tyrone Gray; daughters, Nicole Dillard and Jamika Morrow and husband, Demetrius; granddaughters, Tatiyana Wilburn and Kialauni Morrow; grandson; Aschemund Morrow, along with a host of nieces and nephews.
