Michael “Crash” Edward Hancock, 51, of Axtell, passed away peacefully, Sunday, October 29, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.

Michael’s family will gather for a private celebration of life service at a later date.

A native of Waco, Michael was born, October 14, 1966 to the Edward Hugo Busch and Janie Rue Campbell Busch. Michael married Connie Gail Gartman, June 22, 1999. He enjoyed being a part of several local HAM radio clubs, HOTMAC and most of all hosting, “The Crash Cast”. “The Crash Cast”, was podcast that was created and hosted by Michael for the past 10 years, he had made numerous friends from around the world from his hosting the podcast. Michael is preceded in death by his father, Edward Hugo Busch; his mother, Janie Rue Campbell Carroll.

Michael leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of over 18 years, Connie Gail Gartman; children, James Hancock, Lindsey Hancock and McKenzie Hancock; siblings, Darla Matthews, Curtis Hancock, Ronald Hancock, II, Naomi Jane Carroll, and Jonny Carroll; step-father, JC Carroll; along with numerous other loving family members and friends.

Mike was a dear friend we always enjoyed being with Mike. What great times we had on “Friday night picnics “ and flying at various contest around the area. Todd and I will miss him so much. Our sorrow to Connie and his children for there loss.

Crash will be missed! He always had people laughing and everyone enjoyed his company. During times at night, at our Radio Field Day activities, you got to know Crash. He was one great guy. I cannot speak for the entire HOTARC club but I will surely miss him.

Mike was such a fun and skilled part of the Heart O’ Texas Amateur Radio Club (HOTARC)! His always cheerful participation and contributions in our meetings, events, radio nets, and license prep classes will be sorely missed. I am so sorry for the sense of loss for Connie and family, and pray the Lord will pour His comfort into all of you.
