Louise Evelyn Craig Horn, 90 of Waco, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, Monday, August 7, 2017.

Visitation: Thursday, August 10, 2017 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM, at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco.

Funeral Service: celebrating Louise’s life and her strong faith will be at 10:00AM in the Chapel at Lake Shore Funeral Home in Waco.

Burial: Oakwood Cemetery with pallbearers, Jonathan Keen, John Luna, Michael Barrett, Blake Barrett, Andy Craig, and Mike Barrett.

Louise was born July 5, 1927 in Redbank, New Jersey to the late Axel Ouloff and Minnie Sniffin Ornberg. She attended most of her schooling in the Florida area. During her high school years, Louise enjoyed playing softball with the city league. It was after her marriage to Peyton “Doc” Craig, March 14, 1947 that they moved to Texas. Louise started up a hair salon out of their home, “Craig’s Beauty Salon”; she curled and set many heads of hair in her 35 plus year career. Doc preceded Louise in death in November of 1990. Louise enjoyed square dancing with her square dance club the “Thunderbirds”. She was a long-time member of the Lake Shore United Methodist Church, for 60 plus years, both she and her family attended and were active members. Louise married her second husband, Fred Horn, September 11, 1999. Together they enjoyed life, joining their families together. Fred preceded Louise in death June 17, 2011. Louise was also preceded in death by her brother, Wallace Ornberg and her sister, Esther Layne.

Louise leaves behind to continue her legacy, her loving children, Dianne Evelyn Keen and husband Taylor, William Peyton “Bill” Craig and wife Hope, and Roger Dale Craig; grandchildren, Michael Barrett, Jennifer Barrington, and William Andrew Craig; great grandchildren, Jonathan Keen, John Luna, Michael Barrett and Blake Barrett; along with numerous other loving family members.

Louise’s family would like to thank the staff of Bluebonnet Hospice for all the love and care they showed to her in the last few months.

  4. we visited Axel and Minnie in Florida in the 1950s…..Axel was my Dads uncle and Minnie his aunt ……

    my sister Diane Louise Sniffen was named after Minnies mom Louise Clark from Mobile AL and Red Bank NJ…….

    Minnie had brothers Harry and Frank in Red Bank NJ……..
