Leslie Bohannon, 61 of China Spring, passed away surrounded by her family Tuesday, August 8, 2017.

Visitation: Friday, August 11, 2017 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco

Funeral Service: Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 10:00AM at Lake Shore Funeral Home in Waco.

Leslie Bohannon, 61, of China Spring, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2017. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 12, at Lake Shore Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Cathey officiating. Burial will follow at China Spring Cemetery.

Leslie was born September 23, 1955 in Bryan. She met the love of her life, Kevin Bohannon, at the age of 17 and they have been happily married for 44 years. Leslie will forever be remembered for her funny and carefree personality, as well as for her love of dancing to oldies.

She was preceded in death by her Mom, Jean; father-in-law, Harold Cecil Bohannon; brothers-in-law, Gary and Jesse Bohannon; and sister-in-law, Linda Bohannon.

Leslie is survived by her husband, Kevin Bohannon of China Spring; son, Jason Bohannon and wife, Dawn of China Spring; daughter, Amie Bohannon of China Spring; son, Ben Bohannon and wife, Hannah of Baytown; grandchildren, Gage Gunter, Kaylee Bohannon, Zachary Bernardi, Gracie Bohannon and Mason Gist; brothers-in-law, Bob Bohannon and wife, Jenny of Montgomery, David Bohannon and wife, Cindy of China Spring, Jimmy Bohannon and wife, Sheila of Robinson and Paul Bohannon and wife, Judy of Waco; and numerous other family members.

The family wishes to thank Leighanna Bohannon for her love and special care during this time.

  15. Lesley was such a fun person to be around and to know. She had a generous, loving heart. I know she is free from the suffering she has endured for the last few years., in the arms of Jesus. She was too young to leave you all. But we don’t get to choose. I am thinking of you all in your grief and praying for your peace at this sad, sad time. I just got back into town and due to personal illness’ I may not make it to the service tomorrow. But I will try, but know, that if I don’t make it, I am with you all in my thoughts and prayers. I loved when her peach trees started bowing down and she would always bring a bowl or basket of peaches over and one day I caught her out at the road feeding peaches to our horses and they’re big slobbery tongues were making her laugh so hard. We both got a good laugh out of that. It breaks our heart to see what has happened to her and to your family.
