Condolence Messages

  1. It was my honor to work with Lesa at the City of Waco. Lesa will always be known as a strong, encouraging woman.
To the family, I know this is a difficult time and if there’s anything I can do, please let me know.
May the Peace of God keep your hearts and minds.

  2. Lesa and I first met back in 2000 while working together at the Texas Workforce Commission in Temple. We became friends then and her friendship was one of the greatest gifts I ever received. When Lesa was your friend she was the best friend you could ever have. She was there for you and asked for nothing but your friendship in return. If you were really lucky , you got to become part of her extended family and met all her wonderful family . I will miss my friend very much and I will always treasure her memory. My loss is nothing compared to that of Floyd, Mari, her dad Bill, her nephew Jere, and all of her family so please accept my condolences and know that Lesa was loved by so many people but you are the ones who loved her best and whom she loved above all others.

  5. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. May your many memories comfort you in the days to come. Lesa was a beautiful lady with a beautiful smile.

Lesa was more than a friend to so many and I have seen this many times when I came to visit and was fortunit enough to meet a few of them; most of all, Lesa was strong in family values. She just wanted everyone to live life right, go after your dreams, work hard, provide for yourself (don’t depend on others or “the system” to support you) and never give up. Lesa was more than my cousin, Lesa was my sister, that’s what we thought of each other as; we shared so much, especially after Sharon and our Mama’s passed. I can think back to many holidays when we would spend them at our house or theirs, just our two families and have so much fun and eat so much good food; my Aunt Betty could cook, too. Lesa and I were close, so close that when she left us to go see her Mama, sister, my Mama, Grandparents, Perry and countless others plus meet Jesus, I felt it. Lesa would not want any of us to be sad and upset, she would want us to look at the positives her life and legacy has left behind. She wants Jermari to be the most successful, educated, kind, thoughtful and loving young man reaching for the stars and beyond, Floyd to be happy and get healthier and healthier, and her Daddy (my Favorite Uncle) to know they will all meet again and she loves that stubborn man who still thinks he’s a “play-yah…….” and trust me we have laughed until we cried over his dating antics! I know she wants us to not cry in sadness but be happy she is above, being yet another guardian angel to those she loved. Lesa I miss you and Love you much, keep us all safe, sistah…….

  7. I worked with Lesa in Neighborhood Development at the City of Waco in the very early ’90s. The woman was a rock. There were four of us–all physically small, but fearless women–who took easels and notepads and markers and cookies into every neighborhood in Waco to encourage and facilitate the creation of neighborhood associations. We listened to all the anger and disappointments that had built up against the City for decades. We wrote it all down on the big note pads, and talked it through, and had cookies, then went back the next week and the next until people knew they had been heard and had some expectation of meaningful follow-through. Looking back, maybe we were crazy little women who should have been more cautious, but, like I say Lesa was a rock for us and we were rocks for her. Thanks, Clark family for this wonderful person, and my deepest condolences to all who loved her.

  8. Oh my God, Please say that it isn’t so. I just assumed that life was keeping you busy and we hadn’t had a chance to reconnect. You were such an inspiration and encouragement to me despite your on battles.I just learned of your passing through FB post. How could I have not known that you were no longer present upon this earth? My college buddy has taken up her wings unto Heaven?! I’m in shock as I know so many other of her Oregon State University peers would be saddened to learn of this news. If any of Lesa’s family reads this post please forward to me any information on how to contact her family so that I can pay my heartfelt respects to my colleague’s loved ones.
